I am a qualified and caring counsellor who works with individuals and couples. I know it is not always easy to seek help, especially in difficult and painful circumstances; so here I provide a confidential, safe, non-judgemental and trusting space for you to explore and express your thoughts and feelings.
I am experienced in working on both a short and long term basis and with adults of different ages and from different backgrounds and cultures. My aim is to help you to explore your history, experiences, difficult situations or relationships, so that you start to have a deeper understanding of yourself and begin to make choices and changes to move forward and live life more fully.
My experience includes supporting staff in large organisations and previously I worked for the NHS and Nottingham Counselling Service.
I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and conform to its Ethical Framework.

I am an experienced Psychodynamic counsellor with a private practice in Burton. I am warm, engaging, empathic and understanding whilst at the same time, remaining boundaried and professional. I offer one-to-one counselling on either a short or long term basis.
My qualifications are: BSc (Hons); PGDip Psychodynamic Counselling. I am a Registered member of the BACP and I work within the guidelines set by their Ethical Framework for Good Practice. I also have experience of working for Treetops Bereavement Service as well as being the lead clinical assessor for Nottingham Counselling Service. Previously, I have worked for both the Samaritans and Nightline, the university emotional support service. I hold a current enhanced DBS Certificate.
I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor with over ten years’ experience. My therapeutic approach is based on the individual needs of the client which ensures a highly successful outcome. I specialise in both Corporate and small businesses where fast effective treatment programmes are crucial to a healthy and productive workforce.
My experience has been with the NHS, Charity sector, Employee Assistance Programmes, as well as running a busy private practice. I am currently working in both the Public and Private sectors as well as providing Onsite Critical Incident reporting. I am qualified to degree level and undertake Continuing Professional Development.
My governing body is the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, with whom I am both Accredited and Registered. My Registered number is 041386.

I am a person-centred counsellor with over 10 years’ experience of working one to one with individuals of varied ages, backgrounds and difficulties. I offer a safe and respectful environment to enable you to explore your issues in a non-judgemental, confidential space.
As well as running my own private practice, I also work for Burton and District Mind.
My experience includes working for West Leicestershire Mind for 5 years. Prior to that I worked for a small charity in Nuneaton that offered support with mental health and wellbeing to local people. I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their code of practice and ethical standards.
I offer a safe and warm space in which you can explore your difficulties free from judgement. Everything you disclose is treated with compassion, respect, understanding and confidentiality.
As a commitment to both my profession and my clients’ well-being I engage with regular Continued Professional Development to further my practice. I am currently undertaking a Masters Degree in Trauma Studies.
I am governed by the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) 'Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions' and have regular supervision to monitor my practice. All of this is done to best aid you to overcome your difficulties and move toward a life free from them. I understand that seeking help can be frightening; yet in doing so you will start to overcome your fears. There is nothing wrong in seeking help.
The approach that I use is Person-Centred. In approaching clients in this manner, I endeavour to understand each person and their difficulties to tailor an individual approach to helping them.
I am a qualified and accredited CBT therapist and also a fully qualified EMDR therapist with a background of mental health nursing. I have over 10 years’ experience of working with people with mental health difficulties in a variety of settings, however my passion has always been working with those struggling with depression and anxiety, including OCD, social anxiety, health anxiety, generalised anxiety disorder, phobias and PTSD/trauma. I have a special interest in compassion-focussed therapy and this strongly influences the therapy I deliver.
My qualifications include: HE dip Mental health nursing, PG Dip CBT, EMDR training Parts 1, 2 and 3. I am accredited with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists (BABCP) and working towards accreditation with EMDR Association UK & Ireland.
